We are seeking an exceptional candidate to join our faculty as a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Constructor University Bremen gGmbH. About the Position:

We are looking for a highly qualified individual with a strong background in Scalable Data Processing Systems, Database Management, Cloud Computing, or related fields. The successful candidate will be expected to support our research and teaching activities, develop innovative approaches to online, hybrid, and in-person teaching and learning, and advise students on their studies.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish and lead an independent research group focusing on research topics related to Scalable Data Processing Systems
  • Support teaching in Computer Science at the Bachelor and Master level, including courses such as Database Management Systems, Advanced Database Systems, and Cloud Computing Fundamentals
  • Develop and implement innovative pedagogical approaches to online, hybrid, and in-person teaching and learning
  • Advise students on their studies and supervise Bachelor, Master's, and PhD theses and research projects

Requirements:

  • PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, or a closely related discipline
  • A proven track record of research in areas such as database systems, data science, or cloud computing, demonstrated by high-quality publications
  • Experience teaching in higher education with a commitment to innovation in curriculum design and delivery, including online and hybrid modes
  • Demonstrable experience in leading or collaborating on funded research projects, with a focus on interdisciplinary approaches and real-world applications
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and experience in mentoring students across undergraduate and graduate levels

What We Offer:

We offer a competitive salary package, including a base salary of €80,000 per year, plus benefits such as health insurance, pension plan, and paid vacation time. You will also have access to a flexible budget for establishing an internationally visible research group and opportunities to collaborate with other research groups or industrial partners.
