About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Android Software Engineer to join our team at Porsche Digital GmbH. As a key member of our cross-functional product team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing Android Automotive apps in Kotlin, covering both UI and business logic, and ensuring seamless performance across various in-car displays.

As an Android Software Engineer, you will be part of a dynamic and agile team that is shaping the future of Porsche's infotainment UI. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and implementing Android Automotive apps in Kotlin, covering both UI and business logic
  • Crafting interactive and responsive user interfaces using Jetpack Compose and connecting these interfaces to vehicle APIs for a seamless user experience
  • Leading and defining technical strategies for the team, including architectural decisions, testing approaches, and tooling
  • Coaching and mentoring fellow software developers, fostering a collaborative environment
  • Contributing your code, software design, and innovative ideas to enhance the Porsche Infotainment software stack
  • Quality Assurance: Writing tests, performing code reviews, and ensuring high-quality code in a continuous integration (CI) environment
  • Collaborating closely with product owners, designers, architects, and other stakeholders
  • Translating requirements into effective technical solutions within the product backlog
  • Staying informed about new technologies and infotainment trends, and keeping your finger on the pulse of solutions that can elevate our software stack
About You

We are looking for an experienced Android Software Engineer with several years of professional experience in software development (mobile or automotive). You should have proficiency and hands-on experience in Android technologies (Kotlin, Jetpack, Compose, Coroutines, Dagger, Gradle, etc.). A solid understanding of Android SDK, App architecture, and general software design is also required.

You should have experience with unit, integration, and UI testing (Android testing frameworks) and hands-on knowledge of building pipelines, CI/CD, and software lifecycle. Additionally, you should be an advocate for clean code and architecture.
