Aerospace Systems Engineering Manager

As a key member of our team at OSB AG, we are seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineering Manager to lead our efforts in the development of cutting-edge optical systems for the aeronautics industry.
Key Responsibilities- Act as the technical focal point between engineering and other organizational functions, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
- Coordinate the integrated technical effort and engineering interfaces via the Work Breakdown Structure, System Engineering Management Plan, and Engineering Work Plan.
- Ensure that all necessary technical engineering tasks are defined, planned, and resourced, and that the instrument-level technical baseline is established and maintained.
- Coordinate the analysis of customer requirements, the definition and evaluation of instrument-level requirements, and the verification and breakdown to subsystems, ensuring consistency and exhaustiveness.
- Provide technical contributions to Project Management for balancing technological needs versus non-technical interests, such as time- and cost-planning, and coordination and support of subcontractors.
- Manage and lead project- or instrument-level technical reviews, and implement and ensure control of the System Engineering processes within the project.
- Hold a University (TU), polytechnic degree or PhD in Physics or Engineering, preferably with a major focus on Optical Systems.
- Have experience as a Systems Engineer or Technical Manager for scientific optical instruments or adequate technology and complexity, such as Interferometer, Spectrometer, or Telescopes.
- Have ideally experience in the development logic of Space Instruments for Earth Observation or Astronomy in Phases 0 to B2, as well as significant H/W experience in the Phases C and D.
- Be experienced in engineering economics and have an organised and structured task approach, with experience in technical coordination of a multidisciplinary engineering team.
- Impress with your team work, good conceptual, analytical, and organisational skills, as well as good communication and negotiation skills, and be fluent in spoken and written English.
