Molecular Laboratory Technician

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Molecular Laboratory Technician to join our team at the Leibniz-Institut für Gewässerökologie und Binnenfischerei. As a key member of our research group, you will be responsible for supporting the investigation of the golden alga Prymnesium parvum in the Oder River basin.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the sampling of water samples from the Oder river basin
- Carry out DNA extraction of the respective water samples
- Perform QPCR analysis of water samples
- Support a monitoring to assess the distribution and abundance of Prymnesium parvum in the Oder basin and other sampling sites
- Close collaboration with other working groups in the project
Requirements
- Work experience as a lab technician with a focus on molecular techniques
- Experience in QPCR is required
- Practical experience with fish rearing, field work and in experimentation is advantageous
- Driving license is required
- The will and ability to travel for the field work are essential
- Communication skills and ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team
- Excellent German or excellent English skills are required
