Aircraft Mechanic 3

The CH-47 Aircraft Mechanic 3 performs a wide range of military tactical aircraft maintenance functions, including assembly and modification of the assigned aircraft, their major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, and related systems.

• Perform the full range of military tactical aircraft maintenance, including installation, connection, and adjustment of complete systems.
• Inspect and troubleshoot malfunctions, disassemble to the point of trouble, and adjust, repair, realign, or replace defective components or assemblies.
• Direct the work of lower-graded mechanics for complete assembly, modification, and checkout of the entire aircraft.
• Coordinate with related trades such as electrical, avionics, and sheet metal to ensure proper sequence of the complete aircraft assembly process.
• Have a thorough knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting, diagnosing problems, repair procedures, and replacement of parts.
• Have a working knowledge of making entries in aircraft logbooks and records, military technical publications, and utilizing the Army's Logistics Information System.

• High School Graduate or equivalent is required.
• Five (5) years of recent applicable aircraft maintenance experience is required.
• FAA A&P or FCC Elements 1 and 3 is required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Security Clearance, NAC-I T1 Public Trust.
• US Citizenship is required to obtain a T1/CAC NACI Clearance.

The successful candidate must be able to climb, stand, stoop, bend, stretch, crouch, and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. They must also be able to frequently lift parts and equipment up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift objects up to 50 pounds.
