Job Title: Senior Solutions Engineer - Data Governance

As a Senior Solutions Engineer - Data Governance at Databricks, you will play a key role in guiding customers in adopting Unity Catalog and Delta Sharing, our unified data governance solution and secure data sharing platform. You will work closely with Solution Architects to provide technical leadership and support customers in implementing data governance solutions on Databricks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical guidance to customers on Unity Catalog and Delta Sharing, from advisory and design to deployment and troubleshooting.
  • Understand and communicate the built-in roles and identity concepts in Databricks, and how to map them to fit organizational requirements.
  • Assist Solution Architects with advanced technical sales, including pilot advisory services, custom proof of concept content, and custom architectures.
  • Develop and deliver training and tutorials to improve community adoption and contribute to the Databricks Community.
Requirements:
  • Experience in a technical role with expertise in data governance or data management.
  • Experience with cloud governance tools, such as Collibra, Alation, Azure Purview, or Apache Atlas.
  • Experience designing and developing data governance models that support access control, data isolation, and data sharing.
  • Production experience implementing data governance solutions with complex needs.
  • Experience working with Meta Stores and governance policies, roles for cloud data storage systems.
  • Experience with Big Data technologies, such as Spark, Hadoop, and Kafka.
  • Production programming experience in SQL, Python, Scala, or Java.
  • Experience in a customer-facing or pre-sales/post-sales role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent experience through work experience.
