Senior Armament Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Armament Technician to join our team at Amentum. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of heavy ordnance and small arms systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Determine the nature and extent of repairs required for heavy ordnance and small arms systems.
  • Disassemble and examine parts and assemblies for serviceability, replacing parts and assemblies as required.
  • Repair, replace, and modify barrel assemblies, upper receivers, lower receivers, gas tubes, gas rings, feed trays, feed pawls, buffer, and their related components.
  • Diagnose and determine remedies for failures commonly encountered in the repair of towed artillery and small arms, with little or no supervision.
  • Instruct other employees in the proper repair and maintenance procedures for small arms and towed artillery maintenance and related TMDE.
  • Maintain discipline and enforce performance standards.
  • Perform other duties and assignments as required.

Requirements:

  • 1 year of leadership experience required.
  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Must be able to meet and maintain all base access security requirements.
  • Must be able to meet and maintain all Logistic Information System (LIS) access requirements (Common Access Card).
  • Military experience preferred.
  • Formal training (Completion of US Army MOS 45K/USMC 2111 or NATO military organization equivalent course or civilian equivalent).
  • Excellent computer, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills required.
  • Experience using Global Combat Support System Army (GCSS-A) preferred.
  • Experience using the Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM) Unique Logistics Support Applications (TULSA) and Logistics Information Warehouse (LIW) preferred.
  • 3-5 years' experience in military small arms and heavy ordnance repair preferred.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. Note: US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a US Passport.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills:

  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs. continuously, 50 lbs. intermittently.
  • Ability to perform job duties efficiently and effectively up to a 48-hour work week.
