Digitalization Strategist for Edge-IoT-Applications

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to further develop our group-wide digitization strategy at the Heuchelheim site in Germany.

The Schunk Group, with a turnover of 1.6 billion euros and more than 9,600 employees, is one of the leading manufacturers of products made of high-tech materials and innovations in various fields.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Taking technical lead for the further development and support of the existing edge platform, ensuring seamless integration of new requirements in .NET.
  • Connecting operating systems (Linux) and creating APIs to further develop the overall system design.
  • Working closely with business units to understand their requirements and integrate them into the further development of the system.
  • Optimizing the connection of machines and sensors to the IoT platform using protocols such as Modbus and OPC UA.
Requirements:
  • Solid knowledge of software development with .NET and system configuration in Linux is not unfamiliar.
  • Experience in developing applications and interfaces for IoT environments.
  • Prior experience with communication protocols like Modbus and OPC UA is ideal.
  • A communicative team player with excellent English skills, who can take responsibility and work collaboratively.

The estimated salary for this position is around €80,000 - €120,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
