The Health Safety Environment Specialist is responsible for supporting the business units on all issues related to occupational safety, health protection, and accident prevention.
Job Summary:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations in a biochemical/biological manufacturing facility.
- Develop, implement, and monitor health and safety programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with German legislation and industry standards.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify potential hazards and implement measures to mitigate risks.
- Develop and maintain risk assessments, operating procedures, and work instructions to ensure a safe working environment.
- Design and implement ergonomic workspaces and processes to improve efficiency and reduce the risk of injury.
- Develop and maintain safety data sheets (SDS) in accordance with GHS regulations.
- Identify and assess work-related hazards and health risks, and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Collaborate with employees and supervisors to identify and address health and safety risks.
- Continuously improve the health and safety of employees and maintain a comprehensive health and safety management system.
- Provide training and coaching to employees, supervisors, and safety officers to enhance health and safety performance.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards that impact the company.
Requirements:
- At least 2 years of experience as a health and safety professional in a manufacturing industry.
- University degree in a technical field, preferably in safety engineering, or a comparable professional qualification.
