Accounting Law Expert

Arendt & Medernach, a leading business law firm in Luxembourg, is seeking an Experienced Lawyer to join its Accounting law practice.

The successful candidate will provide expert legal advice on financial reporting and accounting standards to clients across various sectors. Our team delivers exceptional service by offering specialist advice on all aspects of doing business in Luxembourg, including fund formation, banking, insurance, private equity, real estate, corporate, and tax matters.

About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled lawyer with at least 3 years of experience in national (LUX GAAP, BE GAAP or FR GAAP) and international accounting law (IFRS). You should hold a university degree in law, preferably complemented by a post-graduate degree in accounting, auditing, or tax law. Fluency in French and English, both written and spoken, is essential, while German would be considered an asset.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert legal advice on financial reporting and application of accounting standards to clients,
• Ensure clients' compliance with all relevant accounting and financial reporting standards,
• Advise on the legal aspects of financial statements, audits, and accounting practices,
• Assist clients in interpreting and applying accounting standards applied in Luxembourg (Lux GAAP, IFRS),
• Follow-up on client requests and draft opinions on documents under the supervision of the partner in charge,
• Participate in meetings and conference calls with clients to discuss their projects,
• After an initial integration period, you will become increasingly involved in organizing work/knowledge sharing.
