THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to play a key role in the development of our pioneering browser-based 3D application that produces high-quality photorealistic digital twins.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of our dynamic team of Java, Typescript, C++ and QA engineers working in squads on NavVis IVION, which runs in any modern web browser as it is based on open standards like WebGL.

As a critical member of our team, you will have the opportunity to develop the Java and Spring-based application server which drives the web client and the mobile positioning app, support the development of the PostgreSQL/PostGIS database which stores geospatially referenced data, and contribute significantly to the implementation of features for digital enrichment of the environment using geospatial SQL, REST, and Angular.

You will also play a key role in maintaining and extending our APIs for third party use, developing interesting API examples, as well as gathering feedback in order to improve and extend the API. Additionally, you will get to actively coach and develop your junior colleagues.

REQUIREMENTS

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in object-oriented software development
  • Profound experience with Java, the Spring framework, and Hibernate or other ORMs
  • Expertise in implementing web applications which make heavy use of Angular and TypeScript
  • A good understanding of HTML and CSS and how to implement designs in close collaboration with UX/UI designers
  • A degree in computer science, or similar; or self-taught top-notch coding skills
  • Rock-solid cloud experience, preferably with AWS services
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Experience with Linux, C++ and geospatial data, as well as knowledge of 3D graphics in web development, would be an added benefit
