Model Validation Specialist

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Model Validation Specialist to join our team at Clearstream Banking AG. As a Model Validation Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our financial models.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement quantitative and qualitative validation methods to assess the adequacy and robustness of risk models.
- Participate in the initial validation of new and/or changed models, ensuring they meet regulatory requirements and internal standards.
- Define and track Model Validation findings, providing recommendations to model owners to improve model performance.
- Maintain a comprehensive model inventory, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information on all models.
- Assess the adequacy and robustness of risk models on a regular basis, preparing regulatory submissions as required.
- Deliver model validation analysis and reports to support senior management and committee review and challenge of the risk position.
Requirements
- University degree in Economics, (Financial) Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, or any other quantitative discipline.
- Relevant professional experience in risk management, ideally in Model Validation or Model Development.
- Sound knowledge and practical experience in one or more of the fields Credit Risk, Market Risk, and Operational Risk, quantitative (risk) modelling, ICAAP, ILAAP, and Financial Regulations.
- Good technical knowledge and programming skills, ideally in Python.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to clearly present complex topics in plain terms.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English; French/German language skills are an asset.
