Position Overview

The Germany Medical Manager at Genomic Health works closely with the Germany Medical Director and the International Headquarters to deliver medical affairs activities in the country.

The role crucially supports the cross-functional Germany team by providing medical information/education through scientific exchange in a fair-balanced manner to healthcare professionals and medical thought leaders, initially in breast cancer with the potential to expand to other tumor types, as needed.

The role will also include the support of R&D, RWE, and ISTs in the development of genomic assays that lead to improved treatment decisions for oncology patients.

This position requires professionals with established personal and scientific credibility to interact with thought leaders and centers of excellence.

Essential Duties
  1. Identify local national/regional thought leaders in breast cancer and develop/maintain scientific relationships with them (Germany focus).
  2. Support the delivery of the medical affairs strategy for Germany.
  3. Identify data gaps in clinical utility warranting further investment in studies executed through medical affairs; act as a contact for investigators interested in developing and performing studies with the company's commercially available assays across the region.
  4. Deliver national/regional advisory boards when external advice is needed.
  5. Provide clinical presentations and information in response to unsolicited questions, as appropriate, in academic, community, and healthcare provider settings in both group and one-on-one situations.
  6. Develop and execute plans in alignment with regional plans of action.
  7. Assist in R&D-initiated studies, as appropriate.
  8. Deliver a strategy for RWE across the region and a plan to execute against.
  9. Provide scientific and medical updates/presentations in local reimbursement discussions.
  10. Provide scientific support at medical congresses.
  11. Provide scientific support for appropriate educational initiatives.
  12. Deliver medical training and clinical updates to company stakeholders, as needed.
  13. Assure compliance with relevant corporate and regulatory guidelines.
  14. Provide feedback and medical input to local commercial plans and strategies.
  15. Provide input on the development of German-specific commercial materials.
  16. Strong team player capable of delivering high-level and detailed information to the respective stakeholders in the regional team (Marketing, Access, Sales, Country Business Leads).
  17. The ability to travel as the business dictates, up to 30% of time.
Minimal Qualifications
  1. Master's Degree in Medical, Pharmaceutical, or Health Science (Medical Doctor or PhD is a plus).
  2. 3 to 5 years of industry experience (working in medical affairs - pharma/biotech/med tech).
  3. Therapeutic clinical experience desired.
  4. Expertise in Oncology. Experience in breast/GI/lung cancer is a plus.
  5. Extensive experience in managing KOLs.
  6. Experience in relevant geographies a plus.
  7. Excellent English and German mandatory.
