**DC Systems Specialist for Prysmian Group**

The Prysmian Group is seeking a skilled DC Systems Specialist to join our team of engineers working on the engineering of submarine and underground high voltage cable DC systems.

As a DC Systems Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring that our DC systems meet the relevant specifications and standards, contributing to the energy transition and the electrification of the worldwide energy system.

  1. Knowledge of the cable thermal, electrical and mechanical limitations is essential for this role.
  2. You will be responsible for calculating the cable current rating and electrical stresses.
  3. Calculation of the mechanical forces and stresses exerted on the cable during handling and installation operations is also a key responsibility.
  4. You will work with network components to connect and terminate the cables.
  5. Knowledge of the standards and guidelines related to the cable system design and testing is crucial.
  6. You will interface with R&D and Product Managers for the definition of innovative technical solutions.
  7. You will define the qualification and testing regime in line with the specifications and standards.
  8. Support to the Sales Manager during tender phase through the definition of the costs for the proposed system solution, draft of technical documents and negotiation meetings with the Customers is a key aspect of this role.
  9. Support to the Project Manager during contract phase on the technical aspects, drafting technical documents and participating to dedicated and periodical meetings with the Customers.
  10. You will draft the qualification test procedures based on the specifications and standards with the supervision and support of Testing department.
  11. Technical interface with other departments related to manufacturing, installation, network components, quality and testing during tender and contract phase.

**Qualification and Experience**

As a minimum, the candidate shall possess a Master's degree in Engineering, with preference for Electrical, Mechanical or Energy.

The following minimum experience is required:

  1. 1-3 years of experience in the engineering field, preferably in an EPCI environment.
  2. Experience in electromagnetic, thermal and mechanical calculation and modelling is considered a plus (e.g. FEM, ATP, EMTP-RV, UFLEX).
  3. Experience in dealing with relevant national and international standards.
  4. Good communication and negotiation skills.
  5. Availability for frequent and short business travels.
