Infrastructure/DevOps Working Student

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Working Student to join our Infrastructure/DevOps team at alcemy GmbH. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our AWS-based infrastructure, kubernetes platforms, and development processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with our engineering team to maintain and improve our infrastructure and development processes.
- Support application developers and ML specialists with questions related to tooling, deployment, CI/CD, and more.
- Develop internal solutions and tooling to automate and optimize our setup.
- Take the first steps in your career in the industry, working in a startup where your actions have a real impact.
Requirements:
- You are a student currently enrolled in a Computer Science or similar program at a German university.
- You have experience with AWS, kubernetes, and a CI/CD platform.
- You are comfortable with the shell, Bash scripting, and git.
- You are a good communicator.

About alcemy GmbH
We are a startup dedicated to reducing the massive CO2 footprint of the cement and concrete industry. Our software is used 24/7 in cement and concrete plants to optimize production and reduce carbon emissions today. We are currently enabling our customers to save more than tons of CO2 emissions each year and aim to save 100 million tons per year in 2030.
Our Tech Stack:
- We use AWS as our cloud provider, with a variety of services including EKS, EC2, RDS, and S3.
- We manage all of this infrastructure as code with Terraform in a Git repository.
- We have a kubernetes-based platform for running our applications, with automated deployment and a tight integration with our development workflow.
- All our code lives on Gitlab, and we use Gitlab CI to drive our development process.
- Our applications are written in Python using a number of different frameworks, including FastAPI and scikit-learn.
Hiring Process
