EVI Audio GmbH is seeking a highly skilled Telephony Expert to join their team. As a Telephony Expert, you will be responsible for assessing the telecommunication needs and requirements of the organisation and designing telephone systems based on the business requirements and integrated into the overall IT infrastructure architecture.
The ideal candidate will have several years of professional experience in the telecommunications industry, knowledge of telecommunications regulations, compliance standards and industry best practices, including regulatory requirements for emergency services. They will also have in-depth knowledge of telephone systems, including traditional landline systems (analogue and digital), Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), Private Branch Exchange (PBX) and Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) trunking.
The Telephony Expert will be responsible for planning system architecture, call routing and redundancy measures to ensure reliability and scalability. They will also independently manage the integration of telephony systems with other communication platforms such as e-mail, instant messaging and video conferencing.
The successful candidate will have the ability to quickly understand complex issues and communicate successfully with many different stakeholders, always acting in a results-oriented manner. They will also be business fluent in written and spoken German and English.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess the telecommunication needs and requirements of the organisation
- Design telephone systems based on the business requirements and integrated into the overall IT infrastructure architecture
- Plan system architecture, call routing and redundancy measures to ensure reliability and scalability
- Independently manage the integration of telephony systems with other communication platforms
- Reliably implement QoS mechanisms to prioritise voice traffic in networks and ensure high-quality voice communication
- Identify and troubleshoot telephony-related issues
- Work with telecoms vendors and service providers to procure equipment, software licences and support services
- Manage vendor relationships, evaluate products and solutions and negotiate service contracts to ensure cost efficiency and service quality
- Comply with telecoms regulations, industry standards and data protection laws
Requirements:
- Completed university studies in telecommunications engineering or a comparable subject
- Several years of professional experience in the telecommunications industry
- Knowledge of telecommunications regulations, compliance standards and industry best practices
- In-depth knowledge of telephone systems, including traditional landline systems (analogue and digital), Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), Private Branch Exchange (PBX) and Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) trunking
- Knowledge of designing, configuring and troubleshooting voice network infrastructure components
- Business fluent in written and spoken German and English
