We are seeking a skilled Senior Backend Software Engineer to join our tech team in Berlin, Munich, or Hamburg. At 1KOMMA5°, we are building Germany's largest one-stop-shop for sale, installation, and services related to solar, heat pumps, electricity, and charging infrastructure.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will work on transforming the business of renewable technology installation. Our Operating System software streamlines ground operations and rooftop installation to speed up the energy transition in private homes and small businesses.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Building and shaping a business-critical application
  • Creating, implementing, evaluating, and deploying software solutions to solve complex problems in a simplified way
  • Laying the foundation and architecture for lightweight, flexible, and reliable application setups to scale globally
  • Fostering a culture of experiment-driven innovation within the team
  • Promoting teamwork and successful project execution
  • Improving developer satisfaction by constantly avoiding/reducing tech debt, automating as much as possible, and documenting decisions, runbooks, etc.
  • Working across boundaries and interacting in close collaboration with our stakeholders and other teams
Your Profile

You should have:

  • Proven experience in developing scalable software solutions with TypeScript (NestJS) from several past projects
  • Experience with React, and in large-scale applications is a clear plus
  • A broad knowledge of various architectural patterns and experience implementing them with CI/CD using GitHub Actions and cloud infrastructure (GCP/Vercel)
  • Worked in a cross-functional team responsible for the full software development lifecycle
  • Passion for maintainable, documented, reusable, and testable code
  • Profound spoken and written English skills, German is a plus
  • An agile and result-oriented mindset and consider yourself a team player
  • Interest in human-centered software development
