Senior Investor, Private Equity Fund Manager, Berlin, Germany

Our client is a Berlin-based asset manager that invests exclusively in private equity. They work on traditional buy-out deals on one side of the business, and on the other work as a limited partner across primaries, secondaries, and co-investments.
The firm takes a different approach than most limited partners, focusing on small, often first-time or second-time funds, usually as an anchor investor. They have a highly commercial investment thought process and given their significant co-investment allocation very much take a company-led approach.
They are looking for a senior investor, ideally someone with ambitions of quick progression to a more senior position, who can be a pivotal part of the next phase of their growth. Key responsibilities
- Sourcing, due diligence, and monitoring of private equity funds, secondary, and co-investments
- Perform due diligence on identified funds and companies. This will include on-site interviews, analysis of track records, peer comparisons, and the preparation of investment reports
- Monitor existing investments, including by attending annual general meetings
- Working ad-hoc in the team on special projects as necessary
Requirements
- At least 8 years of relevant experience is essential
- A good university degree and a strong academic background
- A desire to further progress your career in private equity
- Fluent in written and spoken English with strong verbal and written communication skills
- Fluency in German is not necessary, but desirable
