Research Scientist for Cardio-Pulmonary Institute

The Cardio-Pulmonary Institute at the Justus-Liebig University Giessen is seeking a highly motivated Research Scientist to contribute to our cutting-edge research in lung and heart diseases.

This is an excellent opportunity to join our interdisciplinary team of researchers and scientists working together to advance our understanding of pulmonary research.

• Participate in experimental research, including molecular, cell biological, physiological, histological examinations, and systemic effects of lung diseases
• Investigate genetic/epigenetic pathways leading to lung injury and repair
• Conduct disease modelling using precision-cut lung slices and organoids with ex vivo human material/cells
• Perform examinations in pre-clinical disease models using available cutting-edge technologies

• Masters degree (or equivalent) in life sciences or a degree in human or veterinary medicine
• Knowledge and experience in performing the above-mentioned activities are preferred
• High degree of responsibility, motivation, communication skills in collaboration with colleagues and scientists, flexibility, commitment, and interest in scientific work and laboratory activities
