We are seeking a highly skilled Quantitative Economist to join our team at the European Central Bank.

The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree in economics, finance, econometrics or a related field and a minimum of six months' practical experience in economic analysis and policy in a central bank or a comparable international institution.

Job Description:

The Quantitative Economist will be responsible for addressing data and information requests, developing thorough and consistent interpretations of data, and providing relevant input for analysis by collecting and managing data and information.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Address data and information requests under the guidance and supervision of experts.
  • Develop thorough and consistent interpretations of data.
  • Provide relevant input for analysis by collecting and managing data and information.
  • Maintain database infrastructures and support the development of analytical tools.
  • Provide econometric support for analyses conducted by other teams.
  • Work with large datasets using machine learning and deep learning techniques.
  • Assist and contribute to official publications and help prepare analytical presentations.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in economics, finance, econometrics or a related field.
  • Minimum of six months' practical experience in economic analysis and policy in a central bank or a comparable international institution.
  • Practical experience with programming languages such as MATLAB, Python, R or Stata.
  • Sound knowledge of data management techniques.
  • An advanced command of English and an intermediate command of at least one other official language of the EU.
