Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Utilities System Operator (Sewage & Storm Water) to join our team at U.S. Army Europe and Africa. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for installing, modifying, and repairing new and existing utility systems, including exterior water, sanitary sewer, storm, and drainage distribution systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plans and lays out the routing, placement, slant, slope, and fall of utility systems, equipment, and apparatus.
  • Performs alterations and enlargements on utility systems in barrack-type buildings, hospitals, or other structures.
  • Operates and repairs Pump/Lift Stations, rainwater retention systems, oil, grease, and starch separators, vehicles & aircraft wash racks, and fire hydrants.
  • Inspects and tests piping systems after completion of alterations and enlargements for proper tightness and safe functioning.
  • Lays glazed or unglazed clay, concrete, or cast iron, PVC, PE, or stainless steel pipes, including connections, fittings, couplings, reducers, elbows, crosses, angles, etc.
Requirements
  • Completed vocational training in the appropriate trade.
  • 5 years of specialized experience, or 2 years of experience at a level of difficulty comparable to the Wage Group 5 or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license class B & C.
  • English Language Proficiency Level A1 and German Language Proficiency Level B1.
