We are seeking a highly skilled Fabrication Technician to join our team at Amentum. As a Fabrication Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing prefabricated modular metal structures, wooden, masonry, and associated equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Repair and inspect metal structures, including sheet metal skin repairs and fabrication of repairs to components of shelter and utility systems.
- Ensure compliance with Performance Work Statement (PWS) and maintain accurate records.
- Perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs on ferrous and non-ferrous metal prefabricated shelter structures.
- Implement sheet metal repair schemes and order replacement structural components.
- Prepare and complete documentation, including Work Orders and USAF Supply forms.
- Prepare assets/equipment for air/sea/road haul shipments in accordance with Technical Orders and Manuals.
- Perform servicing and/or maintenance of in-use assets as required.
- Repair, inspect, clean, operate, and maintain contingency plumbing facilities, such as Laundry, Kitchen, Latrines, and Showers.
- Fabricate and repair wooden storage and shipping containers and support related trades in sheet metal and carpentry requirements.
- Assist in other departments as directed or requested to accomplish specific tasks or projects.
- Perform other skilled or unskilled jobs as directed by the Supervisor.
- Perform Temporary Duty (TDY) in the Area of Operations as required by USAF tasking.
- Operate material handling equipment as required.
- Ensure all tools, personnel protective equipment, and clothing issued remain safe, secure, and serviceable, reporting any deficiencies.
- Conform to Amentum and USAFE safety, hazardous materials, and quality standards.
- Assist in the erection, construction, and operation of BEAR shelter systems and associated equipment to support real-world exercises and contingencies.
- Must have organizational skills and be able to understand, speak, read, and write English at a beginner level.
- Must be able to read and understand technical data, measurements, and engineering drawings for construction, repair of portable building facilities, and operating instructions pertaining to Civil Engineering and BOB assets and related equipment or similar Department of Defense Agencies Contingency Systems.
- Maximo experience preferred.
- Must possess a valid home country driver's license and ability to obtain host nation driver's license.
- Must be able to operate material handling equipment.
- Must be able to speak, read, and write English.
- Must have authorization to work in host country.
The Fabrication Technician will work in a fast-paced environment, communicating with supervisors, coworkers, vendors, and representatives from other departments or locations to establish and maintain effective working relationships. The ability to provide accurate written repair estimates, including labor, material, and estimate time of completion, is essential. The Fabrication Technician may be required to work days other than Monday through Friday and are subject to night and swing shift assignments.
The Fabrication Technician must wear specialized safety equipment, such as respirators and protective clothing, in performing duties. Special attention must be used when completing repairs due to potential fire/explosion hazards, including fuels, oils, and unknown hazards.
