Senior Systems Engineer

Johnson Electric is a leading global company in the development of innovative hydraulic systems and sintered metal applications for the automotive industry and industrial applications.

As a Senior Systems Engineer at our Aachen development center, you will play a crucial role in the systems engineering department, supporting global project teams. Your responsibilities will include system design, system architecture, requirement handling, system and component testing, and customer contact, leading to the creation of highly integrated mechatronic systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop mechatronic systems according to the V-Model in compliance with automotive standards.
  • Conduct requirement analysis to understand system requirements on a multi-disciplinary level and define sub-systems and interfaces.
  • Coordinate with global expert teams to ensure seamless system integration.
  • Design and develop systems and system architectures, collaborating with global teams to integrate hydraulics, electronics, and software.
  • Support in defining the testing strategy and scope, and collaborate with global teams to integrate hydraulics, electronics, and software.
  • Work closely with customer and inter-company development teams to ensure successful project delivery.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related fields.
  • Proficiency in reading technical drawings and ability to create, interpret schematics and diagrams.
  • Able to navigate in CAD systems and understand FEA and CFD results.
  • Practical experience in mechanical and hydraulic systems, with solid experience in common development tools (e.g., Matlab, Simulink).
  • Familiarity with tools that manage requirements (e.g., Doors, Helix) is a plus.
  • Proficiency in English and German (both spoken and written).
