The Material Expediter 2.1 role is responsible for expediting parts and equipment at the designated APS-2 site, ensuring timely delivery and efficient inventory management.
Key Responsibilities- Utilize GCSS-Army to retrieve reports from the Document register and ESR, as well as other maintenance-related reports.
- Research document numbers for cancellations, delays, and long-lead parts.
- Coordinate with Item managers and vendors to expedite repair parts.
- Generate SARS and accompanying paperwork for long-lead parts.
- Compile and maintain shipping status for all NMC parts.
- Update the ESR with shipping status and actions taken in GCSS-A.
- Ensure compliance with international and European shipping and movement regulations and laws.
- Collaborate with the department manager to determine parts requirements or substitute parts.
- Notify the Maintenance manager of NMC parts cancellations and long-lead parts shipping status.
- Be prepared to deploy with the ECHA to other work sites.
- Perform administrative duties for the Maintenance department, including daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
- At least 3 years of related work experience.
- Excellent computer, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Formal training: GCSS-A certification and/or Military AIT/industry 40hr course equivalent.
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Ability to meet and maintain all base access security requirements.
- Ability to meet and maintain all LIS access requirements (Common Access Card).
- Ability to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
- Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English.
- DLA material tracker.
- 2 years of experience using the LIW or a similar military parts tracking system.
- Working knowledge of I2Log and Fed Mall Parts Tracker and IGC.
- Valid driver's license.
- Formal training: GCSS-A certification and/or Military AIT/industry 40hr course equivalent.
The Material Expediter 2.1 role requires frequent walking, sitting, and use of hands to handle or feel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, high, precarious places, and outside weather conditions. The employee may be exposed to situations where risk of electrical shock and vibration exist. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of radiation.
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
