Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Metal Procurement Lead to join our team at Heimvorteil Harz. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for maintaining and developing relationships with aluminum scrap suppliers, ensuring the quality and timely delivery of scrap materials, and analyzing global procurement markets to develop new strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and develop contacts with aluminum scrap suppliers to ensure a stable and reliable supply chain.
  • Ensure the quality and on-time delivery of scrap materials by inspecting and processing deliveries at the recycling plant and remelt plants.
  • Analyze global procurement markets to identify new opportunities and develop strategies to support the growth of recycling content.
  • Continuously control and optimize internal material flows to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Cooperate closely with metal planning functions, European casthouses, and other support functions to ensure seamless operations.
  • Expedite procurement and open orders, and reduce metal costs through effective negotiation and contract management.
  • Travel within Europe (approximately 40%) to visit suppliers, attend industry events, and meet with stakeholders.
Requirements
  • University degree in Business Administration or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in purchasing or a related field.
  • Good understanding of the scrap market, recycling operations, supplier selection, and risk assessment.
  • Proficient in MS Office programs (Word, Outlook, and Excel).
  • Experience with SAP is an asset.
  • Flexibility and ability to operate in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Business fluent German and English language skills.
