PhD Candidate in Neuroimaging and Nutrition Research

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented PhD candidate to join our team at the Helmholtz Zentrum München. As a PhD candidate, you will be part of our Metabolic Neuroimaging Department, working under the supervision of Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Hubert Preissl.
About the ProjectOur research focuses on understanding the relationship between the central nervous system and human eating behavior in individuals at high risk of developing diabetes. You will be responsible for studying central nervous system processes and human eating behavior in human volunteers using neuroimaging techniques, behavioral and metabolic measurements, and cognitive paradigms.
About the RoleWe are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated scientist who is eager to work and evolve in a highly interdisciplinary environment with neuroscientists, physicians, biomedical engineers, and psychologists. Your tasks will include:
- Conducting human experimental research using neuroimaging techniques and behavioral and metabolic measurements
- Applying cognitive paradigms to study central nervous system processes and human eating behavior
- Collaborating with our team to design and implement research studies
We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in neuroscience, cognitive science, psychology, or nutritional sciences. You should have a good understanding of statistical analysis and programming skills in MATLAB and/or Python. Experience with conducting human experimental research and functional magnetic resonance imaging is beneficial. You should be able to communicate effectively and work independently as well as in a team-oriented manner.
