Grid Expert
In this role, you will work closely with the engineering manager and, if required, the project development and land acquisition team for different countries.
Your main responsibility will be supporting the Grid team in identifying and securing grid capacity for large-scale solar and BESS projects.
Main Duties and Responsibilities- Identify and qualify grid capacity suitable for PV and BESS projects
- Originate, submit, and manage the process of connection applications
- Gather intelligence and analyze existing and future electricity network databases at transmission and distribution levels to provide input into the location and electrical characteristics of new solar developments
- Engage with grid operators on pre-app meetings and budget for the availability of connections for upcoming developments (short-, mid-, and long-term)
- Work closely with external grid consultants to support other aspects of the grid connection process
- Complete relevant applications for developments connected to the distribution network
- Generate SLDs using Auto Cad
- Support the land acquisition team in identifying areas of potential capacity
- Manage project pipeline by communicating with grid operators as necessary to track progress with development
- Take ownership of assigned projects, including managing deadlines, multiple project objectives, project timelines, and success criteria for each
- At least 3-4 years in a technical role working on electricity projects, including submission of grid connection applications at distribution or transmission level
- Electrical engineering background preferred (postgraduate degree in a relevant topic) with experience in a technical environment
- Working knowledge of the Grid Code is important
- Ideal working experience in Solar or BESS projects
- Maintaining working relationships with Grid operators
This is a start-up environment where you will learn from engineers and senior managers, some of whom have over 20 years of experience in renewable energy.
This role will be suited to people who want a flexible working environment that is non-hierarchical where there is no ceiling for growth.
Package- €90,000-100,000 salary
