About the Position
We are seeking a highly motivated PhD student to join our research team at the Dr. Senckenberg Institut of Pathology (SIP) at the Universitätsklinikum Frankfurt. The successful candidate will be involved in a research project focused on the 3D organization of the tumor microenvironment in primary and metastatic prostate cancer.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research on the tumor microenvironment in prostate cancer using multiomics approaches and multiplex tissue imaging
- Develop biomarkers for improved prostate cancer classification and response to treatment
- Quantify the anatomical organization of the tumor microenvironment in a curated cohort of metastatic prostate cancer patients
- Collaborate with the research team to unravel and functionally assess crosstalk mechanisms that support metastasis
Requirements
- Master's degree in Biomedical, Life Sciences or equivalent
- Basic experience in laboratory techniques (i.e. molecular biology)
- Background in immunofluorescence microscopy and prostate cancer are a plus
- Passions for discovery, collaborative spirit and good communication skills
- Good knowledge of MS-Office
- Good knowledge of spoken and written English
- Valid proof of measles immunity / measles vaccination is required
