HPC Technical Project Manager

Lenovo, the world's leading supercomputing provider, is seeking a seasoned Technical Project Manager to join its Global HPC Professional Services team in Germany.
This is a remote position that can be based anywhere in Germany, offering a rewarding opportunity to use your experience and skills in a dynamic, complex organization and to deliver across our major customer sites.
As a Technical Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing the schedule, budget, and resources within the project. Typical projects last 3 months to several years and may involve 3rd party resources as part of the project. Primary customer base is in Germany, but you will be joining a global team, and will manage projects globally as needed.
You will use basic to advanced project management fundamentals to plan, monitor, and close the project. Your other tasks include:
- Identifying dependencies for the project
- Creating a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and monitoring status versus baseline
- Monitoring the budget of the project versus original costing
- Forming and executing risk-management strategies
- Communicating project status
- Some travel to client sites required (25% to 40% travel expected in Germany and globally)
Skills and Qualifications Required:
- 3+ years technical project management experience, gained in a technical environment, ideally in the information technology and high performance computing services industry
- Excellent inter-personal skills and strong relationship building
- Superior organizational skills
- Project Management Certification in PMBoK, PRINCE2, PMI, PMP etc.
- Experience of working with Agile or Scrum methodologies
- Ability to coordinate and lead activities of a small to large team and interface constructively with our HPC services stakeholders, including 3rd party suppliers
- Professional writing, intended for status reports and project communications
- English and German communication (written, spoken) required
- Strong experience of using MS Project and MS Office
- Experience of developing technical specifications from user requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
- Project management certification
- Training or experience in negotiation
- Training or experience in project accounting
