Mechanical Cost Optimization Specialist

We are seeking a Mechanical Cost Optimization Specialist to join our DACH Region team in Hennigsdorf, Germany. In this role, you will play a central part in reducing the carbon footprint of Europe's busiest public transit system.
The purpose of this job is to challenge costs and improve environmental impact with a 'just enough' design approach. You will realize achievable estimations of the cost of various components and systems of a train, generate ideas for design improvements, and participate in creating target costs for tenders and projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify main cost drivers of the product and propose solutions to tackle costs
- Propose designs to reduce technical and industrial costs while improving energy consumption
- Use adequate tools and cost models to calculate the technical cost of the product
- Compare and analyze similar projects through benchmarks
- Provide cost breakdowns of products
Requirements:
- Bachelor/Master degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Industrial processes basic knowledge
- Fluent in English, optionally skills in German
- Good entrepreneurship and persistence
- Very good agility and collaborative spirit
