Railway Infrastructure Test and Commissioning Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Test and Commissioning Engineer to join our team at Alstom in Braunschweig. As a key member of our Digital & Integrated Systems (D&IS) division, you will play a crucial role in the implementation of digital interlockings (DSTW) and the European Train Control System (ETCS).

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the management of construction activities for control and safety technology, coordinating closely with the Alstom site manager.
  • Plan and execute the commissioning, test phase, shutdown, and start-up of control and safety technology for assigned projects.
  • Collaborate independently on complex technical issues on the construction site at Alstom signal boxes.
  • Conduct technical and operational clarifications with customers, subcontractors, and internal departments.
  • Contribute to EHS (accident prevention and environmental protection) on the construction site.
  • Participate in the creation of a construction schedule.
  • Contribute to measures for continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to the development of sustainable customer satisfaction.
  • Occasional participation in on-call duty.

Requirements

  • Engineer in electrical engineering, communications engineering, or a comparable degree program.
  • Alternatively, master craftsman in electrical engineering (or comparable) with many years of relevant professional experience.
  • Ideal experience with construction measures in the railway sector, preferably in control and safety technology.
  • Very high willingness to travel on business.
  • Willingness to work outside normal office hours.
  • Fluent German and very good written and spoken English skills.
  • At least a class B driving license.
