This fully funded 24-month position involves theoretical and experimental research on meta-MAC layer development for underwater optical communication systems. The successful candidate will contribute to ongoing projects related to optical communications within the SIGCOM research group.

• Design and develop network layer and meta-MAC layer protocols for optimal performance in underwater scenarios.
• Analyze state-of-the-art solutions via numerical simulations and/or hardware validation.

To excel in this role, you should possess:

• A Ph.D. degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Applied Mathematics.
• Proven expertise in optical communication or meta-MAC layer protocols.
• Strong mathematical and network background.
• Advanced knowledge in physical layer security techniques and synchronization mechanisms.
• Proficiency in software development using C++, Python, and MATLAB.
• Desirable experience in underwater optics and international research collaborations.
