Senior DevOps Platform Engineer

About the Role

As a Senior DevOps Platform Engineer at ista SE, you will play a key role in shaping the company's cloud-native DevOps strategy. You will work closely with software development squads to design and implement a modern CI/CD process, enabling them to develop and maintain cloud-native DevOps operating models with minimal ops overhead and fast time-to-market.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design the overall technical architecture for the DevOps platform together with the squad
  • Consult and mentor software development squads on their journey to the cloud, focusing on CI/CD process and cloud-native DevOps operating models
  • Stay up-to-date with new trends on the market, select new technologies, and integrate them into the modern CI/CD process to improve quality, security, speed, and maintainability
  • Collaborate on the strategy and vision for the transformation of DevOps and cloud, sharing impulses and best practices with peers

Requirements
  • Hands-on mentality and attention to detail, with the ability to balance the big picture
  • Excellent communication skills in English, with proficiency in German a bonus
  • Proven skills with CI tools (GitLab and GitLab CI), continuous deployment tools (Argo CD), and cloud orchestration with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform)
  • Experience with hyperscaler clouds (e.g. Azure) and associated infrastructure and PaaS/CaaS product suite
  • Very good knowledge of the container ecosystem (Docker), container orchestrators (Kubernetes), and cluster fleeting technologies (e.g. Crossplane)
