Job Title: Detection and Response Engineer

At METRO AG, we are seeking a highly skilled Detection and Response Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Security Operations Center (SOC), you will be responsible for driving the development, maintenance, and strategic direction of our Detection and Response capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and design cyberdefense capabilities to ensure alignment with best practices and security standards.
  • Collaborate with the Security Architecture team to develop and maintain advanced threat detection mechanisms.
  • Oversee the scope, coverage, and performance of our SOC tools and technologies.
  • Collaborate with MSSP Engineers to optimize MSSP service delivery scope, coverage, and quality.
  • Develop and implement automation workflows to enhance SOC efficiency and response times.
  • Mentor the Detection and Response team and facilitate knowledge sharing.
Requirements:
  • Educational background in cybersecurity or a relevant field.
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity and threat detection.
  • Advanced threat detection expertise and knowledge of emerging threats, attack vectors, and countermeasures.
  • Proficiency in utilizing SOC tools and technologies, including SIEM, SOAR, identities management, network detection, and endpoint detection.
  • Familiarity with MSSP standards and practices.
  • Proven experience in implementing automation workflows within cybersecurity.
