About the Position

This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly motivated and organized individual to gain hands-on experience in event planning and execution, specifically within the context of sustainability and local government initiatives. The successful candidate will have the chance to work with a global network of over 2,500 local and regional governments, contributing to their mission of creating systemic change for urban sustainability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the planning and implementation of key events, including Daring Cities 2023, the ICLEI World Congress, and the LGMA Multilevel Action Pavilion at COP28;
  • Assist with the organization of both in-person and virtual events, ensuring seamless execution and exceptional attendee experiences;
  • Collaborate with the team in charge of program development and speaker management, bringing fresh ideas and perspectives to the table;
  • Maintain accurate records and track logistical information for event participants, speakers, partners, and staff;
  • Develop engaging content for social media channels, newsletters, and promotional materials, leveraging your creativity and writing skills;
  • Provide support with web editing, desktop publishing, and virtual platform management, applying your technical expertise to enhance event operations.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Pursuing a degree in a relevant field, such as Event Management, Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related subject;
  • Proven experience with web editing, desktop publishing software (e.g., WordPress, InDesign), and management of virtual platforms;
  • Creative problem-solving skills, proactivity, and reliability in a team environment;
  • Fluency in written and spoken English; comfortable using Microsoft Office applications;
  • Additional desirable qualifications include experience with MailChimp, social media management, non-profit organizations, and proficiency in other languages, particularly German, Portuguese, or Spanish.
