Your Mission as an Electrical Design Engineer
We are seeking a talented Electrical Design Engineer to join our mission and play a crucial role in developing electrical subsystems from concept to production. You will be responsible for designing, prototyping, assembling, testing, and overseeing the implementation of these systems in close collaboration with our product development partners.
Responsibilities:
- Design and System Architecture: Develop comprehensive system designs and control architectures for prototypes and products in collaboration with mechanical, electrical, and automation engineers. Define requirements for electrical subsystems and create technical documentation such as wiring diagrams and electrical BOMs using EPLAN Electric P8.
- Component Selection and Specification: Select and specify components for electrical cabinets, including power supplies, safety circuits, and digital and analog I/O modules for Beckhoff PLC controllers. Provide expertise in selecting sensors and actuators (valves, pumps, motors, pressure sensors) based on their electrical specifications and interfaces.
- Prototyping and Testing: Create electrical assembly documents for cabinets, participate in the assembly and wiring of prototypes, and perform commissioning and testing of components and systems alongside our PLC automation engineers. You may also have the opportunity to program PLC code for these tests. Identify and resolve electrical and electronic issues on new and existing systems.
- Technology Transfer and Product Development: Collaborate with our product development partner, providing technical expertise on electrical aspects throughout the product design process.
Qualifications:
- University degree or completed vocational training as a certified technician (Staatlich Geprüfter Techniker) in electrical engineering or a related field.
- 3+ years of professional experience as an electrical designer for machines, ideally in the field of custom machine design.
- Extensive experience using EPLAN Electric P8 or a similar electrical design tool.
- Experience in commissioning and testing PLC-based electrical subsystems.
- PLC programming skills are considered a plus.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
