Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Manager to join our team at METRO Markets GmbH. As a Tax Manager, you will be responsible for providing expert tax advice and counsel related to VAT and tax laws, guiding our operational strategies and European expansion plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive tax advice tailored to our e-commerce landscape, with a focus on VAT considerations, ensuring compliance with national and international tax regulations.
- Build strong partnerships with our tax department and affiliated companies to ensure coordination and best practices, driving business growth and success.
- Work independently, collaborating with cross-functional teams to align tax strategies with operational goals, making informed decisions for successful project outcomes.
- Assess business risks and make decisions based on situational and relationship-based thinking, ensuring the company's financial stability and growth.
Requirements:
- At least 6 years of professional experience in a corporation's tax department, with a focus on VAT, and a strong understanding of national and international tax laws.
- Strong expertise in VAT Governance and Tax law, with the ability to analyze complex tax matters and provide expert advice.
- Degree in economics or law with a focus on taxation, and excellent communication skills to break down complex tax matters.
- Fluency in English and German, with additional languages being a plus, and a structured, independent, and reliable work ethic.
