Space Situational Awareness Researcher

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Space Situational Awareness Researcher to join our team at Airbus Defence and Space GmbH.
Key Responsibilities- Familiarize yourself with the topic of Space Situational Awareness, the Airbus Robotic Telescope (ART), and the existing code (SPOOK).
- Conduct a literature review on space situational awareness.
- Implement, test, and validate new functions and tools.
- Present your progress regularly.
- Prepare a Master Thesis and thoroughly document your work performed.
- You are an enrolled full-time Master student (d/f/m) in space or aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, automation engineering, physics, mathematics, software engineering, or related fields.
- You have experience in programming (in particular Python).
- You possess strong communicative skills and a positive attitude towards teamwork.
- You are fluent in English.
- You are interested in Space Situational Awareness topics and space debris mitigation.
- You have knowledge in orbital mechanics, optics, image processing, and/or estimation theory (a plus).
