Chemical Technician for the Technical Service

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Chemical Technician to join our team at the Technical University of Munich. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the laboratory team in various technical tasks, including the preparation of hybrid semiconductor samples, the operation of laboratory equipment, and the maintenance of laboratory facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of hybrid semiconductor samples for research projects in a cleanroom environment
  • Support students in laboratory practicals and take on relevant process steps in the production of micro- and nano-electronic samples
  • Perform technical tasks, such as substrate cleaning, optical lithography, vacuum coating, and cell culture maintenance
  • Provide training and guidance to laboratory staff on laboratory procedures and equipment operation
  • Conduct safety training and ensure compliance with safety regulations
  • Assist in the development of safety protocols and procedures
  • Perform laboratory management tasks, including inventory management and equipment maintenance

Requirements

  • First-hand experience in a microelectronic, chemical, or biological laboratory
  • Ability to work independently, precisely, and with a high level of responsibility
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of thin-film process technology, instrumental analysis, and assembly and interconnection technology is an asset
  • Fluency in German and English is required
