Role Overview

We are CoCrafter (YC W24), a Munich-based start-up aiming to revolutionize collaboration processes in construction.

The construction industry is the backbone of the European economy but has been overlooked by digitization efforts, resulting in inefficient processes and untapped potential.

Subcontracting is a crucial process in construction, but its highly inefficient nature causes contractors to lose revenue and miss growth opportunities daily.

This issue becomes more pressing due to the labor shortage.

CoCrafter is the answer: Our platform enables contractors to find and manage subcontractors effectively in one place, bringing transparency and quality to a highly fragmented market.

We are supported by top-tier investors and are already enabling some of the biggest construction companies to redefine their subcontracting processes.

Key Responsibilities

We're looking for a Software Engineer to join our growing team and contribute to building our product in close collaboration with our founders.

  • Technical Expertise: Be passionate about developing and implementing a diverse set of complex features while ensuring the delivery of scalable, maintainable, and performant software.
  • System Design: Promote technical excellence, steer architectural decisions, and implement engineering best practices.

Requirements

We believe that problem-solving, creativity, and ambition are most important. Tools and technologies can be picked up. However, the following references will give a guideline of what experiences we think might be helpful:

  • Familiarity with frontend libraries and frameworks such as React, Next, and more.
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript with experience in TypeScript.
  • Experience with component libraries and extended applications.
  • Development of a RESTful API with frameworks and tools.
  • Work experience with Node frameworks and libraries in the backend, such as Express or Nest.
  • Familiarity with object-oriented programming languages and domain-driven design.
  • Able to set up a PostgreSQL database, work with ORMs, and write database migrations.
  • Familiarity with deploying applications to cloud services such as Azure, GCP, or AWS.
  • Open to collaboration and learning together with other developers.
  • Fluency in German and/or English.
  • BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields.
  • A plus: Previous experience in an early-stage start-up and knowledge of what it's like to join a fast-paced environment.
