Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Accountant to join our Finance & Legal Team at Motius. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of all internal accounting processes. With a flexible work arrangement and a hybrid work environment, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic international setting, either full-time or part-time (32 hours/week).

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the financial accounting process with DateV, including the monthly preparation of sales tax advance notifications and consolidated reports.
  • Process bank and cash transactions, ensuring the company's overall payment flow.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements, annual financial statements for the tax consultant, and support annual budgeting.
  • Play a central role in year-end accounting activities, including calculating provisions and active account receivable postings.
  • Verify invoices in Spendesk for accuracy and calculate and prepare the annual artist social security contribution.
  • Prepare accounting and reporting, as well as capital calls, for other companies (Spacewalk).

Requirements

  • Hold a degree in business administration or a related field, with further education in financial accounting and/or balance sheet accounting.
  • Have several years of experience in financial accounting (creditors, debtors), asset and personnel accounting, and be proficient in DateV.
  • Be well-versed in German tax law, have good knowledge of balance sheet and income statement regulations under HGB, and have applied these in preparing monthly financial statements and annual financial statements.
  • Have a high affinity for numbers, excellent MS Office skills, particularly Excel, and experience with processing payment transactions in Spendesk.
  • Be characterized by a structured and independent working style, as well as negotiation-savvy German and good English skills.
