The Ecosystem Team

The Ecosystem team is responsible for connecting Firebolt with third-party tools and products. We develop and maintain drivers and third-party connectors, using a tech stack that includes Python, Java, Go, JavaScript, and.NET. Our goal is to provide seamless integration with popular tools like Sisense, Tableau, and Metabase.

The Role

We're looking for a skilled Software Engineer to join our Ecosystem team. As a key member of the team, you'll be responsible for maintaining the JDBC driver and contributing to the development and maintenance of other drivers and connectors. Your primary focus will be on the JDBC driver, but you'll also play a key role in the design and implementation of the ODBC driver.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and improve the JDBC driver
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of other drivers and connectors
  • Design and implement the ODBC driver
  • Make technical decisions and create design proposals to support new database features
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • A BSc degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • At least 3 years of experience as a professional developer of production software
  • Experience with Java or C++
  • Experience working with databases and understanding of SQL language
  • A desire to design and develop database drivers and connectors
Preferred Qualifications

We're looking for candidates with experience in:

  • Github Actions
  • ODBC or JDBC connectors

  • ETL/ELT tools
  • Integrating with 3rd party APIs
