The position is located in Munich, Germany, and requires three days of on-site work per week.

Job Description
  • You will collaborate with project teams as a specialist in database design and interface development, vendor management, and operations departments.
  • You will be responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring PostgreSQL and Oracle databases, both on-cloud and on-premise.
  • High-availability environments (e.g., Cluster, DataGuard) require your expertise for implementing and monitoring databases.
  • You will oversee all database deployments and conduct code reviews.
  • SQL query optimization for Postgres and Oracle is also part of your responsibilities.
  • You will handle incidents, changes, and problems according to ITIL standards.
  • Evaluating new technologies in the database field and implementing them in the company as needed is another aspect of this role.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A minimum of 10 years of extensive experience working with Postgres and Oracle databases in complex IT landscapes. Experience with AWS Aurora Postgres is an advantage.
  • Prior knowledge in DevOps, preferably in Linux environments (e.g., scripting, containerization, automation, virtualization) - experience with Docker, Ansible, Jenkins, Terraform, and Python is beneficial.
  • Skillful handling of cloud services and IaaS, ideally AWS.
  • Strong SQL/performance tuning knowledge for Postgres and Oracle and monitoring knowledge via Oracle Cloud Control, CloudWatch, and Grafana.
  • Certification as an Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) is an asset.
  • A strong customer orientation and service mentality, as well as willingness to be on call 24/7 (about one week per month).
  • Quick comprehension and good analytical skills.
  • A 'hands-on' approach and ability to work independently and responsibly within a team.
  • Excellent German language skills (at least B2 level) and English skills (C level), both spoken and written.
Salary and Benefits

Approximately €80,000 - €110,000 per year, depending on experience.
