R&D Director Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced R&D Director to lead our research and development efforts in the electrical porcelain insulator industry. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for overseeing all research and development projects, managing a team of 5 staff, and reporting directly to the management team.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Research and Development: Direct and oversee all research and development projects of new and existing products at a global scale.
  • Team Leadership: Lead the R&D team to meet the company's objectives and provide business leadership and strategic direction in conjunction with various internal and external stakeholders.
  • Industry Trends: Familiarize yourself with up-to-date industry trends and up-and-coming technologies to maintain competitiveness and anticipate market demand.
  • Cross-Functional Teamwork: Work with cross-functional teams from HQ to support commercial needs and business objectives.

Requirements:

  • Education: University degree in Engineering or a similar relevant field (PhD, Master's, or Bachelor's).
  • Professional Experience: Minimum 10 years of working experience with a proven track record of R&D capability in the electrical/energy sector.
  • Preferred Skills: Working knowledge of product design of ceramic/porcelain insulators.

Other Requirements:

  • Leadership Skills: Ability to lead and manage multi-cultural and multi-lingual teams across diverse portfolios/categories.
  • Global Management: Management of product development and technical functions in all offices around the globe.

Language and Location:

  • Language: Fluency in English.
  • Location: Can be based in any country in Europe.

Travel: Has the necessary flexibility to travel as business needs dictate.
