Job Opportunity: Embedded System Engineer – Secure GNSS Solutions

Fraunhofer-Institut für Integrierte Schaltungen IIS is seeking a skilled Embedded System Engineer to join our team in developing secure GNSS solutions. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for researching and developing advanced anti-jamming and anti-spoofing solutions for GNSS systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and deliver software and firmware for secure GNSS platforms
  • Integrate system and software components into embedded System-on-Chip (SoC) architectures using FPGA and ASIC technologies
  • Contribute to the development of innovative solutions for secure GNSS in national and international research projects
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer science, robotics, or equivalent education
  • Expertise in embedded software development, including proficiency in C/C++ programming, debugging, testing, and continuous integration
  • Willingness to obtain security clearance and engage in government-authorized projects
  • Preferably: experience with version control systems (e.g., Git), scripting languages (e.g., Python), and hardware description languages (e.g., VHDL / Verilog)
  • Beneficial: Familiarity with GNU/Linux environments, knowledge of cryptography and Common Criteria, and a background in signal processing and radio communications

The position is initially limited to 2 years, with the aim of subsequent extension. The weekly working time is 39 hours. The position can also be filled on a part-time basis, but preferably as close to a full-time position as possible.
