About the Role

The Legal Services Team at ECMWF is responsible for safeguarding and promoting the organisation's legal interests. As a Legal Trainee, you will support the team in various ways, including research, contract template review, and negotiations.

You will work closely with the Head of Legal Services (General Counsel) and other team members to ensure that ECMWF meets its obligations under its Convention, regulations, and international law.

The Legal Trainee will be responsible for:

  • Conducting legal research in areas such as public international law, contract law, and EU law
  • Drafting legal memos and presenting research results
  • Supporting contract negotiations with service providers and public entities
  • Performing other tasks as required
About ECMWF

As a Legal Trainee at ECMWF, you will be part of a dynamic team that works closely with the European national weather services and the international scientific community.

Requirements

To be eligible for this role, you must be a law graduate completing your legal studies in Germany and have a strong interest in international law and EU law.

You should have excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with individuals from all levels, backgrounds, and cultures.

Previous work experience in a law firm or a corporation is an advantage, but not required.
