About the Role

The Business Developer Solar is a pivotal position within DP World, tasked with driving business growth across the Solar vertical. Key responsibilities include developing new customers and geographies, as well as executing sales activities to support expansion.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a strategic project to enter a new industry within transport and later contract logistics.
  • Lead a committed team of operational sales professionals in the Solar vertical, providing direction and promoting collaboration to ensure goal attainment.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive plan for service offering development alongside Operational leadership.
  • Generate effective leads and opportunities, leveraging existing networks and book of business.
  • Meet and exceed financial growth targets while expanding DP World's geographic and solutions footprint.
  • Identify and develop key relationships with decision-makers at various levels within customers.
  • Maintain an understanding of customer expectations regarding operational solutions, costs, and results.
  • Foster close cooperation between Account Management, Business Development Managers, Operations, and other functions (IT, HR, Finance) to drive commercial success.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • Degree or equivalent in business administration or transport/logistics.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales quotas at a relevant scale.
  • Around 10 years' experience within Contract Logistics, transport, or freight forwarding.
  • Significant value-selling experience and ability to lead and manage teams.
  • Strong communication skills, including exceptional listening, writing, and speaking abilities.
  • Problem-solving skills, with a focus on finding creative, innovative solutions.
  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Collaborative mindset, with experience working across dynamic and multicultural teams.
  • Results-oriented approach, with a proactive attitude towards handling competing priorities.
What You'll Bring

We're seeking an individual who can bring:

  • Fluent English language skills and additional languages are an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Experience managing CRM tools and navigating complex software systems.
  • Flexibility to travel, with a willingness to spend at least 30-60% of time on the road.
Compensation Package

This role offers a highly competitive compensation package, including a base salary of $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
