Heavy Equipment Mechanic Location: Germany Application Eligibility

This position is open to current internal local national employees within Germany, including all local staff of the U.S. Forces, as well as external applicants residing in Germany.

Key Responsibilities

As a senior mobile equipment mechanic, you will be responsible for executing comprehensive repair tasks on heavy-duty machinery and vehicles powered by internal combustion engines. This includes a variety of equipment such as construction, industrial, and military vehicles. Your duties will involve:

  • Thoroughly removing, disassembling, and reassembling engines, power units, transmissions, differentials, suspensions, and braking systems.
  • Identifying and diagnosing issues within mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Determining the most effective work methods and tools to complete tasks efficiently.
  • Providing guidance and training to junior personnel on proper techniques and workmanship.
  • Adhering to all relevant safety regulations.

Additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Completion of vocational training lasting at least 30 months in the relevant trade or possess 5 years of specialized experience.
  • For those with vocational training, an additional 2 years of experience at a comparable difficulty level is required.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license (Class B) is mandatory; Class C is preferred.
  • Language proficiency in English (B1) and German (C2) is essential.
Employment Conditions

This is a permanent full-time position, requiring the ability to lift and carry weights up to 50 lbs. Occasional travel within Germany may be necessary.
