About the RoleWe're seeking a highly skilled and experienced MEP Cost Manager to join our Cost Management team in Frankfurt, Munich, or Stuttgart. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for managing major projects and clients, establishing early budgets, and providing cost planning and estimating services.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in feasibility studies and write procurement reports
- Estimate and cost plan, including producing and presenting the final cost plan to internal and external clients
- Tender and procure, including managing the pre-qualification stage
- Deal with post-contract cost variances and change control processes
- Take personal responsibility for making cost checks and carrying out valuations on larger projects
- Produce monthly post-contract cost reports and present them to the client
- Contribute to value engineering
- Negotiate and agree final accounts
- Interface with clients and other consultants at all project stages
- Lead a cost management team, ensuring they deliver on all accountabilities
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- A degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- A proven track record of delivering high-quality cost management/quantity surveying services across the full project lifecycle
- Experience in delivering MEP elements of work for clients
- Experience of leading cost management commissions for large construction projects of high complexity
- Good knowledge of construction industry technical matters
- English skills are required, as well as basic German skills (min. B1), and a willingness to improve German language skills
- Excellent presentation, verbal, written, and communication skills
- Sound organisational skills, with the ability to multi-task and be a team player
- Working knowledge of MS Office software and tools
- Working knowledge of cost databases and/or estimating software is advantageous
