Firefighter - Aircraft Rescue Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Firefighter and Rescue Specialist to join our team at U.S. Army Europe and Africa. As a key member of our Fire Department, you will be responsible for providing emergency response services to multiple sites within our Army installation, including fire fighting, hazardous material response, and related aid and rescue work.
Key Responsibilities:- Respond to emergency calls and provide fire fighting and rescue services
- Operate fire trucks and equipment, including aerial ladders and rescue vehicles
- Participate in regular training exercises to maintain and improve skills
- Collaborate with host nation fire departments and other emergency responders
- Minimum of E&T Level I (completed lower secondary school / Hauptschulabschluss) and German certification as basic fire fighter (abgeschlossene Feuerwehrgrundausbildung, gemaess Feuerwehrdienstvorschrift 2 (FwDV2))
- Completed training in accordance with the guidelines of the US Forces Fire Prevention Program
- Host nation equivalent National Emergency Medical Technician (NEMT) certification
- Ability to obtain and maintain DoD certification as Firefighter I & II, Driver Operator Pumper, DOD HAZMAT operations, Host Nation SCBA certification (Ausbildung zum Atemschutzgeraetetraeger gem. FwDV 2), radio communicator training (Ausbildung zum Sprechfunker gem. FwDV2)
- Valid host Nation certification to service and recharge fire extinguishers
- Work on weekends and holidays as well as 24-hour shift work required
- Occasional temporary duty travel (TDY) required
- Heavy lifting up to 100 lbs required
- 30 days of annual leave; 36 days for severely handicapped employees
- Vacation and Christmas pay (total of 13 monthly salaries)
